Overview
Uomo Intense is a deep aromatic leathery vanilla men’s fragrance released by the Italian designer Valentino in 2016. It is the intense version of the 2014 release Valentino Uomo. It is an EDP and it comes in 50 and 100 ml bottles. Now, on to the ratings.
Presentation
Uomo Intense comes in a dark grey and black bottle with spiky protrusions that give it a nice shell. The black to grey color gradient becomes more pronounced as you hold the bottle up to the light.
I love the look and feel of the bottle although I’m not too big on the fact that it’s cap-less. It instead comes with a plastic protector that slides over the nozzle to prevent accidental discharge. My question is why not just make a real cap that slides over?
I’m also not feeling the atomizer on this one as the fragrance juts out in a stream rather than a fine mist if you fail to firmly press down on the atomizer. All in all, I love the designer yet I’m not crazy about the atomizer and its lack of cap.
Score: 7/10
Juice (Scent Composition)
The notes in this one are orange and sage up top, iris and tonka bean at the heart and vanilla and leather at the base. What you’re really going to smell when it hits your nose is iris on a base of vanilla and leather.
The thoughts that are evoked when I smell it: “Powdery”, “deep” “vanilla”, “mysterious”, and “elegant.”
If I were to describe it in Layman’s terms, I would say that it smells like Vanilla ice cream, leather, and lipstick.
The iris, leather and vanilla combo is pulled off well here. Definitely one the best iris notes you’ll find in a designer fragrance. It’s creamy, deep, aromatic, spicy, and a little sweet as well.
Score: 8/10
